The doorway just in front of us leads to the outer control room. Above the
doorway are launch credits for the Blue Scout program. Blue Scout was an Air
Force (hence the "Blue") variant of the NASA Scout program. Pad A supported
launches of Blue Scout Junior, while Pad B supported launches of Blue Scout I
and II, and Mercury-Scout. In the photo above, the smaller outlines to the left
represent Blue Scout Junior launches from Pad A (a total of 10), and the larger
outlines represent Blue Scout I/II launches from Pad B (a total of 6). The
handwritten "120" sign indicates the room number of the outer control
area.
